USA Radio Network Wins Top Honors at Katie Awards

In the Radio Division, the Katie award for "Best Major Market Newscast" was once again won by USA Radio Network's daily hour-long newscastmagazine, NewsWrapUSA.
USA Radio Network also won Katies for:
Best Documentary - Axis of Evil Update: What's Next in the Global War on Terror? - a NewsWrapUSA Special Edition.
Best Editorial or Commentary - Iraq 2005
USA entries were also finalists in the categories of Best Spot News and Best Use of Sound.
The entire USA Radio Network News team was recognized for its contributions, with specific honors going to News & Sports Director Bob Morrison, Assistant News Director Judy Hydock, NewsWrapUSA Managing Editor and co-anchor Melanie Johnson Smith and NewsWrapUSA co-anchor Curt Lewis.
Sponsored by the Press Club of Dallas, the 48th annual Katie Awards is a multi-state competition which also recognizes excellence in the fields of advertising and public relations, as well as journalism. The competition is judged by teams of journalists and professional communicators. The Katie Awards include 155 categories in nine divisions.
The awards were presented at the Katie Awards Gala on Saturday, November 18, at the Hyatt Regency Dallas.
